Blogger, Surfer, Potato Enthusiast.
There's a game I played at summer camp we called two truths and lie, you tell the group two true facts about yourself and one lie and then they have to guess which fact is a lie. Can you guess which one is my lie? Blogger, Surfer or Potato Enthusiast? Well, I guess I'm a blogger because look whose words you are reading, and yes I love potatoes in any way shape or form which probably isn't doing the best things for my figure. So you guessed it, I am not a surfer. But you sure would think I was if you walked into my bedroom. I have a big poster on my wall of a tiny surfer lost in a giant swell, I have a few surfing magazines on my bookshelf, and I even have a miniature V.W van about the size of a loaf of bread sitting on one of my shelves. But the truth is, I've never surfed a day in my life. And I've always wondered what it was about surfing that entices me. Is it the athleticism and skill surfers have, or the clothes surfers wear and the overall surfer style? Is it that they all seem to live on the edge, sleeping in their cars by the beach, or is it just that every surfer dude is so darn attractive? I'm not sure. What I do know though is that I've got to get on a surfboard one day, and I hope it's as amazing as I've hyped it up to be. In the meantime I will continue to live vicariously through photos (and videos).

(Sorry there are so many photos it was too difficult for me to decide on just a few!)

Jeff Goodman Designs Exhibit
There is a beautiful exhibition of some of Jeff Goodman's work at the Ontario Crafts Council Gallery from January 10th to February 24th. And I am very proud to say that Jeff Goodman was my Dad.
I promise I am not biased when I say that Melanie Egan [Harbourfront Centre], Alan C. Elder [Canadian Museum of Civilization], Emma Quinn and Janna Hiemstra [Ontario Crafts Council], Sylvia Lee [Jeff Goodman Studio], Sunil Bhandari [Bhandari & Plater Inc.] did a fantastic job with the exhibition. I hope you can make it down to see the exhibit, it is in the wonderful West Queen West area of Toronto on the north side of Queen at 990 Queen Street West.

Pattern me Crazy!
I love this house I saw in Lonny Magazine. First of all I am always drawn to homes with lots of light, white walls and bright and cheery colours, but the patterns used throughout this home are what make it a showstopper. The Patterned wall paper used throughout the house gives it a playful vibe, and the white walls which fill the rest of the house make it possible to use so many patterns without making the home look too overwhelmingly zany. Kudos to Decorator Lisa Sherry who created this quirky home!

Milwaukee/Chicago Christmas
We took the scenic route to chicago, which was beautiful because there had been a fresh snowfall dusting the trees with snow. It made us felt as though we were traveling through a winter wonderland!
The Bean was crowded with at least one hundred people when we visited it. Although we had to squish through the crowd to get inside the ever popular Bean, it was great to see so many people enjoying the work of art!
We drove by this unique and funky tree in Milwaukee, one amongst many highly decorated homes on Candy Cane Lane.
Awesome lighting at a Milwaukee Sledding hill!
